Mr. XieZhichun was the President and Executive Director of Central Huijin Investment Limited and Vice President of China Investment Corporation (CIC). He has a Ph.D. in Economics from the Institute of Economics at Nankai University. Xie started his career in the financial sector in 1992 at China Everbright Group (CEG) as Managing Director of International Business at China Everbright Bank, Heilongjiang. Later he lead the founding of Da Cheng Investment Fund Management,Bosera Fund Management, and EverbrightPrumerica Fund Management (JV with Prudential Financial). In 1997 he moved to Singapore and acted as CEO and Executive Director of China EverbrightAsia Pacific, sitting on the boards of 16 subsidiaries and affiliates of CEG in Asia. After four fruitful years in Singapore, Xie returned and became CEO of Everbright Securities, Non-Executive Director at China Everbright Limited (165.HK), Vice President at China Everbright Bank,Vice President at CEG, Chairman of the Board at Sun Life Everbright Life Insurance (JV with Sun Life Financial)and its asset management subsidiary Sun Life Everbright Asset Management.Mr. Xie has an impressive resume covering the banking, securities, and insurance sub-sectors in the financial industry, with over two decades’experience in modern corporate governance, financial company management, and financial regulation reform. He is among the very few executives who has experience in all three major sub-sectors, thus not only having extensive influencein the Chinese financial scene, but also maintaining deep friendly relationships with his international peers.Since he stepped away from the public position at CIC, Mr. Xie started a new career as Distinguished Professor at the China Center for Special Economic Zone Research of Shenzhen University,and alsoNankai University, Heilongjiang University, and Tsinghua University. He also acts as Vice Chairman of the Advisory Committee at Shekou FTA and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cooperation Zone in Qianhai, Shenzhen.
