Jiang Jianguo was born in December 1956 in Hanshou County, Hunan Province. He graduated from Hunan University with a Master's Degree in engineering. He became a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in January 1975, and joined the Public Service in September 1977. Jiang is now Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of the State Council Information Office. He is a member of the 18^th Central Committee of the CPC.
