樊纲，经济学博士，中国经济体制改革研究会副会长，中国改革研究基金会理事长，国民经济研究所所长。兼北京大学、中国社会科学院研究生院经济学教授,中国深圳综合开发研究院院长。主要研究领域为宏观经济学和转轨经济学，发表中英文学术论文100余篇，专著8部。1982年河北大学经济系（七七级）毕业后，考入中国社会科学院研究生院经济系，主攻“西方经济学”专业，1985年至1987年赴美国国民经济研究局及哈佛大学访问研究，1988年获经济学博士学位，同年进入中国社会科学院经济研究所工作，1992至1993年任《经济研究》编辑部主任，1994至1995年任经济研究所副所长。1995年任现职至今。樊纲经常受中央政府领导和各部委的邀请就各种经济政策问题进行决策咨询，担任广东等多个地方政府的经济顾问，并在国内担任多种社会职务,2006-2010任中国货币政策委员会委员。曾被世界银行、UNDP, ESCAP, OECD等国际组织聘为经济研究顾问，在国际多所大学任教讲学。2004年被法国奥弗涅大学、2011年被加拿大皇家大学等授予荣誉博士学位；2005年与2008年，连续被美国《外交政策研究》与英国《观点》杂志共同评选为“世界最受尊敬的100位公共知识分子”之一；2010年被《外交政策研究》评选为“全球100位思想家”之一。

Ph.D. in Economics. Chairman, China Reform Foundation, and Director, National Economic Research Institute. Professor of Economics, Peking University and the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He got his Ph.D. in economics from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) in 1988. He was visiting fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and Harvard University, MA, USA, 1985-1987; Senior research fellow and deputy director of Institute of Economics, CASS, 1992-1995; chief editor, Jingji Yanjiu (Economic Research Journal, monthly), 1992-1993; His publications include over 100 academic papers published in Chinese and English academic journals; and 12 books on Macroeconomics and Economics of transition. He is also an advisor to various departments of Chinese Central government and provincial governments; as independent member of China Monetary Policy Committee during 2006-2010; as guest professor of number of universities and graduate schools; and consultant to The World Bank, UNDP, OECD, etc. He received Docteur Honoris Causa (Honorary Doctor) from University of Auvergne, France, and Royal Road University of Canada, in 2004 and 2011 respectively, and listed as one of “World’s Top 100 Public Intellectuals” jointly by Foreign Policy and Prospect, in 2005 and 2008 consecutively；and listed as one of “100 Global Thinkers” by Foreign Policy in 2010.
