在过去的20年中，麦启安先生一直致力于推动中国与世界间更深入的交流与合作。通过他的创见探索、研究工作及对中国超过二十八个省市的实地考察，麦启安先生已成为西方在中国问题研究领域最资深的专家之一。麦启安先生目前担任的职务包括：新洲集团政府与商务事务顾问，英国48家集团副主席，以及剑桥李约瑟研究所的名誉董事。2011年1月，麦启安先生受聘为中国云南省委书记秦光荣的顾问；2011年10月，受国家汉办主任许琳邀请成为汉办高级顾问；同期，作为活跃于中国论坛的发言嘉宾，麦启安先生受中国政协外事委员会主任、政协会议新闻发言人赵启正邀请，在全国政协外事委员会论坛上做了主题演讲。2012年12月，任国家外国专家局高级顾问，受邀参加新任中共中央总书记习近平与外国专家座谈会，系获此殊荣的首位英籍代表。2013年1月，麦启安先生受邀担任国家外国专家局外国专家顾问委员会顾问。外国专家顾问委员会在中国国务院总理的指导下创建，定期向国务院提供国家政策方针制定方面的建议。

For almost 20 years Alistair Michie has followed a passion for building deeper understanding between China and the world. Through his initiatives Alistair has worked in twenty eight of Chinese provinces and administrative regions. Alistair is NICG Group Business and Government Advisor, Deputy Chairman of the 48 Group Club and Honorary Associate of the Needham Research Institute at Cambridge University. Alistair is an Advisor to the Party Secretary of Yunnan Province, Qin Guangrong and Senior Consultant to HANBAN Director General, Ms. XU Lin. Alistair has worked closely in recent years with Minister ZHAO Qizheng and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Council (CPPCC) on projects to advance the use of public diplomacy in China. In December 2102 Alistair was appointed a senior advisor at the State Administration for Foreign Experts (SAFEA); in that role he became the first British national to be invited to brief the newly appointed Secretary General, XI Jinping. In January 2103 Alistair was appointed by SAFEA to the Foreign Experts Advisory Committee (FEAC). FEAC was created on the direct instruction of the Chinese Prime Minister to provide regular policy advice to the State Council of China.
