第十届、十一届、十二届全国政协委员，第十一届全国政协外事委员会委员，第八届、九届全国青联委员，第十届、十一届全国青联常委。现任中国人民大学国剧研究中心主任，兼任北京外国语大学艺术研究院院长、公共外交研究中心执行主任。孙萍教授于80年代初毕业于中国戏曲学院京剧表演系，1982年9月-2012年6月工作于国家京剧院。期间，1991-1999年，受文化部派遣在匈牙利进行文化交流，任裴多菲国家大剧院特约导演;1999年8月，受文化部派遣在美国进行文化交流，任华盛顿国家交响乐团东西方音乐特约顾问；2007年1月—2012年6月兼任中国人民大学国剧研究中心主任。全国“三八红旗手”、匈牙利“荣誉国民”、美国总统奖获得者。

The director of Center of National Drama Studies of Renmin University of China. Dean of Research Institute of Arts of Beijing Foreign Studies University. Director of Public Diplomacy Research Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University. Professor Sun graduated from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts in the early 1980’s. She worked in the National Peking Opera Company from September 1982 to December 2012 and concurrently served as the director of the Center of National Drama Studies of Renmin University of China from January 2007 to June 2012. From 1991 to 1999, she was dispatched to Hungary by the PRC Ministry of Culture and acted as the guest director of Hungary National Theatre. Then she was dispatched to US in 1999 and served as the guest music consultant in National Symphony Orchestra. For her contribution to Peking Opera and cultural exchange, she was given the title of the national “March 8th” red-banner holder and the honorary national of Hungary, and was afforded the United States Presidential Award.
