Naina Lal Kidwai, Country Head, India, and Executive Director on the board of HSBC Asia-Pacific, heads the Indian operations of the HSBC group. She is actively engaged in trade and industry issues, and is President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry; member of the Government of India’s Industry Task Force, and the Working Group on Banking, Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission; and on the governing boards of the National Council of Applied Economic Research and the National Institute of Bank Management. She is also a Global Advisor for Harvard Business School and the Chair of its India Advisory Board, Chairman of the City of London’s Advisory Council for India and Non-Executive Director on the Board of Nestle S.A. Her interest in environmental issues and livelihood creation for women are evident through her representation on the Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation Board, the TERI Advisory Board, the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on Climate Change, and the US State Department International Council on Women’s Business Leadership. An MBA from Harvard Business School, she is the recipient of many awards and honours, and makes a regular appearance on listings of the worlds powerful since 2002. She received the Padma Shri, for her contribution to Trade & Industry, from the Government of India in 2007.
