Russell Scrimshaw在2011年被任命为钾矿勘探开发公司Sirius Minerals Plc（Sirius矿业有限公司，英国证交所上市）的董事会主席。该公司相信，旗下全资控股子公司York Potash（York钾矿）从事着全世界最引人关注的钾矿开发项目，并有望在应对中国和亚洲其他地区长期食品安全问题中发挥关键作用。此前，在2003年至2011年间，Scrimshaw先生曾担任澳大利亚领先的铁矿石开采商Fortescue Metals Group Ltd（FMG集团）的创始董事会成员和副首席执行官。他还曾经在Commonwealth Bank of Australia（澳洲联邦银行）、Optus Communications Pty Ltd（奥普图斯通信有限公司）、Alcatel（阿尔卡特公司）、IBM和Amdahl USA（阿姆达尔美国）担任过高级领导职位。另外，他也是澳大利亚会计师公会的准会员、中国长沙中南大学矿业经济学专业的兼职教授和专注于巴西市场的金矿公司Cleveland Mining Company Limited（克利夫兰矿业有限公司，澳大利亚证交所上市）的副董事会主席。Scrimshaw先生同时担任Commonwealth Properties Ltd（Commonwealth Properties有限公司）、EDS Australia（澳大利亚EDS公司）、Mobilesoft Ltd（Mobilesoft有限公司）、Telecom New Zealand Australia Pty Ltd（澳新电信有限公司）、Garvan Institute Foundation（Garvan研究院基金会）和Athletics Australia（澳大利亚体育协会）的主席，并且也是澳大利亚慈善基金会Scrimshaw Foundation的会长。

Russell Scrimshaw was appointed Chairman of UK stock exchange listed Potash explorer and development company, Sirius Minerals Plc, in 2011. Sirius believes its wholly owned subsidiary company, York Potash, is the most exciting Potash development project in the world and expects to be a key player in addressing the issue of long term Food Security throughout China and Asia. Previously, Mr. Scrimshaw was a Founding Board Member and Deputy Chief Executive officer for leading Australian iron ore miner, Fortescue Metals Group Ltd from 2003 to 2011. He has also held senior leadership positions within the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Optus Communications Pty Ltd, Alcatel, IBM and Amdahl USA. In addition, he is an Associate Member of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants, an Adjunct Professor of Mining Economics at China Central South University in Changsha, China and Deputy Chairman of ASX-listed Brazilian-focused gold company, Cleveland Mining Company Limited. Mr. Scrimshaw has also been a Board member of Commonwealth Properties Ltd, EDS Australia, Mobilesoft Ltd, Telecom New Zealand Australia Pty Ltd, The Garvan Institute Foundation and Athletics Australia. Mr. Scrimshaw is also Chairman of Australian philanthropy fund, the Scrimshaw Foundation.
