胡祖六博士在创立春华资本集团之前担任高盛集团合伙人及大中华主席，为高盛在亚洲地区的发展发挥了核心领导作用，并主导完成了高盛历史上一些最重要的标志性项目。他曾在高盛集团的主要全球委员会任职，包括全球合伙人委员会、全球投资银行领导小组、松树街领导力计划暨高盛大学以及公司文化、多元化和领导力委员会。胡博士是一位享有盛誉的经济学家，其主要研究领域为宏观经济，国际金融，与资本市场。他曾任职于国际货币基金组织，并长期为中国的金融改革、财政和养老保险改革、国有企业改革以及宏观经济政策提供具有前瞻性的独到的研究分析和政策建议。胡博士是香港特区政府战略发展委员会、香港证券和期货交易委员会顾问委员会委员。目前除了担任数家公司的董事之外，胡博士还担任了清华大学中国经济研究中心联执主任，大自然保护协会中国理事会主席，中美医学基金会董事，雅理协会（中国-耶鲁）理事，哈佛大学中国基金、斯坦福大学国际经济发展研究所和哥伦比亚大学Chazen国际商业研究所顾问。胡祖六持清华大学工程科学硕士学位、哈佛大学经济学硕士和博士学位。

Prior to founding Primavera Capital Group, Fred was Chairman of Greater China and a Partner at Goldman Sachs, where he was instrumental in building the firm's franchise in the region. He led some of the largest and most significant transactions in the firm's history, and served on the Goldman Sachs Partnership Committee, the Global IBS Leadership Group, the Pine Street Goldman Sachs University Board, and the Firm-wide Culture, Diversity and Leadership Committee. Fred is a respected Economist whose main areas of research interest include Macroeconomics, International Finance and Capital Markets. He served at the International Monetary Fund, and he has advised the Chinese Government on Financial Reform, SOE Restructuring, and Macroeconomic Policies. Fred also sits on the Hong Kong Government's Strategic Development Committee and the Advisory Committee for the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission. In addition to holding several corporate directorships, Fred is Chairman of the Nature Conservatory's China Board, a Trustee of the Yale-China Association, a Director of the China Medical Board, a Member of the Advisory Committees for the Harvard China Fund, the Stanford Center for International Development, and the Jerome A. Chazen Institute of International Business at Columbia University. Fred is also a Co-director of the National Center for Economic Research at Tsinghua University. Fred holds a Master in Engineering Science from Tsinghua University, and a Master and Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University.
