徐守盛，男，汉族，1953年1月生，江苏如东人，1973年4月参加工作，1973年10月入党，江苏省委党校研究生学历，高级经济师。1973年4月起，历任江苏省如东县委工作队队员、靖海公社二大队党支部副书记、靖海乡党委副书记、栟茶区委副书记、新林乡党委书记、革委会主任；1981年12月起，历任江苏省如东县委常委兼县农委主任、县委副书记、代县长、县长、县委书记；1991年12月起，历任江苏省连云港市委副书记、代市长、市长，宿迁市委书记、市人大常委会主任；2000年12月起，历任江苏省委常委、宿迁市委书记、市人大常委会主任，省委农村工作领导小组副组长、扶贫工作领导小组组长；2001年9月起，历任甘肃省委常委、省委组织部部长，常务副省长，省委副书记、代省长、省长；2010年5月起，历任湖南省委副书记、代省长、省长；2013年3月，任湖南省委书记、省长。是第十六届中央候补委员、第十七届中央委员、第十八届中央委员。

Xu Shousheng, born in January 1953, is a male ethnic Han from Rudong, Jiangsu Province. He entered the workforce in April 1973 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in October of the same year. He graduated from Jiangsu Provincial Party School as a postgraduate, and he is a Senior Economist. Since April 1973, he has served successively as: Member of the work team, CPC Rudong County Committee; Deputy Party Branch Secretary of the second Brigade, Jinghai Commune; Deputy Secretary, CPC Jinghai Committee; Deputy Secretary, CPC Pincha District Committee; Secretary, CPC Xinlin Committee; Director, Revolutionary Committee, Xinlin, Rudong County, Jiangsu Province. Since December 1981, he has served successively as: Member, Standing Committee, CPC Rudong County Committee; Director, Agricultural Committee, Rudong County; Deputy Secretary, CPC Rudong County Committee; Acting Mayor, Mayor, Rudong County; Secretary, CPC Rudong County Committee, Jiangsu Province. Since December 1991, he has served successively as: Deputy Secretary, CPC Lianyungang Municipal Committee; Acting Mayor, Mayor, Lianyungang Municipality; Secretary, CPC Suqian Municipal Committee; Chairman, Standing Committee, Suqian Municipal People's Congress, Jiangsu Province. Since December 2000, he has served successively as: Member, Standing Committee, CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee; Secretary, CPC Suqian Municipal Committee; Chairman, Standing Committee, Suqian Municipal People's Congress; Deputy Head, the Rural Work Leading Group; Head, the Poverty Alleviation Leading Group, CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee. Since September 2001, he has served successively as: Member, Standing Committee, CPC Gansu Provincial Committee; Head, Organization Department, CPC Gansu Provincial Committee; Executive Vice Governor, Gansu Province; Deputy Secretary, CPC Gansu Provincial Committee; Acting Governor, Governor, Gansu Province. Since May 2010, he has served successively as: Deputy Secretary, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee; Acting Governor, Governor, Hunan Province. Since March 2013, Secretary, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee; Governor, Hunan Province. He was elected an alternate Member of the Sixteenth CPC Central Committee and a Member of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth CPC Central Committees.
