北京大学国家发展研究院教授、名誉院长。1994 年创立北京大学中国经济研究中心(现北京大学国家发展研究院),并担任主任一职。2008 年被任命为世界银行首席经济学家兼负责发展经济学的高级副行长,成为担此要职的发展中国家第一人。2012 年在世界银行的任期届满,返回北大,继续教学研究工作。 林毅夫现任全国人大代表,曾任全国工商业联合会副主席、全国政协委员、全国政协经济委员会副主任。在国内外多个有关发展政策、农业、减贫的委员会、领导小组兼职。 林毅夫于1986 年获得美国芝加哥大学经济学博士学位,荣膺英国科学院外籍院士、发展中国家科学院(原名第三世界科学院)院士,并获得法国奥佛涅大学、美国福特汉姆大学、英国诺丁汉大学、香港城市大学、英国伦敦经济学院和香港科技大学的荣誉博士学位。
Mr. Lin is professor and honorary dean, National School of Development at Peking University. He was the Senior Vice President and Chief Economist of the World Bank, 2008-2012. In this position, Mr. Lin guided the Bank’s intellectual leadership and played a key role in shaping the economic research agenda of the institution. Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Lin served for 15 years as Founding Director and Professor of the China Centre for Economic Research (CCER) at Peking University and is the author of 23 books including The Quest for Prosperity: How Developing Economies Can Take Off, New Structural Economics: A Framework for Rethinking Development and Policy, Demystifying the Chinese Economy, Benti and Changwu: Dialogues on Methodology in Economics, and Economic Development and Transition: Thought, Strategy, and Viability. He is a deputy of China’s People’s Congress. He was Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and Vice Chairman of Economic Council, Chinese People’s Political Consultation Conference. He served on several national and international committees, leading groups, and councils on development policy, technology, and environment including: International Advisory Council of the World Bank, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) Steering Committee, the UN Millennium Task Force on Hunger; the Eminent Persons Group of the Asian Development Bank; the National Committee on United States-China Relations; the Global Agenda Council on the International Monetary System; Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee; and the Hong Kong-U.S. Business Council. He received honorary doctoral degrees from Universite D’Auvergne, Fordham University, Nottingham University, City University of Hong Kong, London School of Economics, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and is a Corresponding Fellow of the British Academy and a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences for Developing World.
