Headquartered at the beautiful Moutai Town along the Chishui River in northern Guizhou Province, and with an average altitude of 423 meters, China Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Moutai Group") has a staff of more than 30,000 and is a large-scale state-owned enterprise. With Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd. as its core company, Moutai Group is involved in such industries as baijiu, health wine, wine, securities, banking, insurance, scientific research, logistics, tourism, transportation, education, real estate, and baijiu related businesses.

 

As its flagship product, Kweichow Moutai liquor boasts long history as well as profound culture and has become China's name card in the world. In 1915, Moutai won a gold award in the Panama Pacific International Exposition and shared the title of "World's Top Three (Distilled) Liquors" with French Cognac brandy and Scotch whisky, serving as the originator and typical representative of China's yeast Jiang fragrance liquor. Over the past century, Moutai has won international gold awards for 18 times and defended its championships in many Chinese liquor competitions. In the baijiu industry, Moutai is the only healthy baijiu brand that has garnered in one single product the titles of Green Food, Organic Food, Geographically Representative Product, and China's National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

 

Kweichow Moutai ranked 1st among alcohol brands in "Top 100 Most Valuable Chinese Brands" jointly released by Millward Brown and WPP; Moutai ranked 1st in the "Top 50 Spirits Brands" (2016) list released by UK's brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance; Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd. has been listed in "Forbes Global 2000" by the world's famous financial magazine "Forbes" for 10 consecutive years, and ranked 1st among Chinese alcohol enterprises in the list; in the 2016 Huazun brand value evaluation, with a brand value of 19.2 billion USD, Moutai ranked 1st in China's baijiu industry. Today, Moutai has become a world-class brand with annual sales of 6.4 billion USD, profit of 3.4 billion USD, paid taxes of 2.5 billion USD, total enterprise assets of more than 18 billion USD, and the world's largest sales in single distilled liquor brand.

 

Big brand shoulders more responsibility. Since the beginning of 12th Five-Year Plan, in public welfare undertakings alone, Moutai Group has donated 330 million USD and made important contributions in such aspects as donating to schools, subsidizing the needy, providing disaster relief, protecting environment, promoting agriculture, and sponsoring local governments to improve traffic environment. As the only enterprise in the industry to issue social responsibility reports for eight consecutive years, Moutai Group has won many honors, such as the title of "Most Benevolent Enterprise Donor" from China Charity Award, the highest government prize in the field of Chinese philanthropy.
