    Tan Sri Musa bin Hitam received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Malaya and his Master's degree in International Relations from the University of Sussex. He has since been awarded with various honours,including an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Sussex and University Malaysia Sabah and fellowships from the Malaysian Institute of Management and the CFIA,Harvard University. He served briefly as Senior Lecturer at the University of Malaya and currently is Adjunct Professor at the University Utara Malaysia. Before 1981,Tan Sri Musa held a number of key government posts,including Chairman of Federal Land Development Authority(FELDA),Deputy Minister of Trade& Industry,Minister of Primary Industries(1974-1978) and Minister of Education(1978-1981). Between 1990 and 1991,he was Malaysia's Special Envoy to the United Nations and from 1995 to 2002 he was the Prime Minister's Special Envoy to the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group(CMAG). In this position,Tan Sri Musa led/participated in various Missions to Malawi,The Gambia,Sierra Leone,Nigeria,Fiji and Pakistan as well as Commonwealth Heads of Government(GHOGM) meetings in Scotland,South Africa and Australia. Tan Sri Musa also led the Malaysian delegation to the UN Commission on Human Rights from 1993 to 1998 and was elected Chairman of the 52nd Session of the Commission in 1995. Tan Sri Musa is currently Chairman of two public listed companies i.e. Lion Industries Corporation Berhad and Kumpulan Guthrie Berhad and Joint-Chairman of Malaysia-China Business Council.[Text of Speech]
