
Invest Australia's Chief Executive Officer Garry Draffin leads the Commonwealth Government's national inward investment promotion and attraction agency. His responsibilities include developing a national strategy for promoting and attracting foreign direct investment into Australia and ensuring that it is implemented effectively and efficiently. Garry has developed Invest Australia globally, enhancing relationships with Heads of Mission to ensure a whole-of-government approach to attracting investment. He has developed and grown partnerships with the states, industry and other federal allies to ensure a common approach to marketing Australia as a contemporary business hub in the Asia /Pacific. Garry has extensive experience in international and domestic markets and has held high-profile CEO positions in both the private and government sectors. He has significantly grown revenues and profits in public and private companies, successfully implemented creative strategic plans for start-up and turnaround companies and has wide practical experience in domestic and international marketing. Before he joined Invest Australia, Garry was the CEO of Telecasters Australia Ltd., Queensland Tourist and Travel Corporation, now Tourism Queensland, Wesgo Ltd. and Contiki Travel International. Garry is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Vice-President of Cystic Fibrosis NSW.
